Ben & Sophie Brook Meadow Wedding Blog
Ben & Sophie are simply the nicest, most kind and genuine people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. It was Carl, the groom’s dad, who recommended us to the happy couple and I was thrilled to be photographing their wedding at Brook Meadow Hotel. I’ve worked with Carl and Den before at weddings, they are the formidable and very funny Isabelle’s Ices team with the best ice cream in the north west, and I was honoured to share this incredible day with them and their wonderful friends and family. I also got to work with the fab Rob Whibley, and we really did have a good laugh. The venue was tucked away down a dreamy country lane in Childer Thornton, set amongst pretty grounds with hidden gardens and bridges. Inside the wedding breakfast room, it was decorated delicately with gorgeous twinkling lights LOVE letters and favours of the Alzheimer’s Society Pin, a charity that was very personal to couple and me too. Sophie was the most laid-back bride, absolutely relaxed and organised, enjoying the morning of her wedding with all her gorgeous bridesmaids in tow. Sophie and her bridesmaids had the most beautiful bouquets by Peaches & Herbs with touches of ivory and baby pink. It complimented the nude colour scheme perfectly. Our groom Ben wasn’t phased at all about the day ahead of him, I was hoping to enjoy the nervous ‘green’ groom moments but he was far too full of fun, laughter and banter with all his best men to be feeling the usual wedding day jitters. Sophie looked knockout in her Ronald Joyce gown, it fit her to perfection, she is a complete timeless beauty and the design of the fit and flare gown was utterly elegant. When her gorgeous girls saw Sophie in her wedding gown there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Even Sophie’s Mum & Dad struggled to keep it together when they saw their baby girl looking every inch the show stopping beautiful bride, I couldn’t help but get swept along on the tide of emotion. Everyone knows my history with having perfect weather on my couples wedding days and despite threatening rain clouds they never amounted to much. Once Ben & Sophie were Mr & Mrs Hulme the guests flooded the garden amidst glorious sunshine and spectacular music entertainment from Vocalists, ‘The Poppies’. The speeches really were fantastic and incredibly funny, well with someone as witty as Ben and his 3 best men, it was hard not to keep a straight face. I overstayed my welcome by at least 3 hours but what can you do when you are made to feel so wonderfully welcome. This was such a special wedding day, and it was perfect, in every single way. Wishing Ben & Sophie all the love, luck, good health, wealth and happiness their hearts can hold. Much Love, Lisa x
