I feel like I’ve been waiting for Laura and Michaels wedding forever, I’ve had their booking in my diary for almost 2 years and their day was everything and more that they, and I, hoped it would be. The run up to the wedding was fraught with weather forecasts of thunder storms and torrential downpour. So, in time old Bancroft Photography tradition I got a candle lit, and my prayers said and woke up far more hopeful on the big day. I met with Laura and her bridesmaids at the Marriott hotel and they were so laid back and relaxed. Not one to be stressed or to endure any drama, Laura was not your typical bride to be. I always envision what brides will wear on their big day and I’m usually right when it comes to guessing the style and shape of the gown. I love surprises and seeing Laura’s gorgeous gown, from Roberta’s Bridal, hanging there made me smile from ear to ear. It was the most incredible feminine and elegant princess gown with a blush satin skirt with tulle and lace overlay and I loved it. We giggled the morning away and Michaels groomsman, owner and florist at Flourish, arrived with the wedding flowers he had created and gifted them for their big day. They were utterly stunning. An array of beautiful white roses and arctic white hydrangea, they were sublime. Seeing Laura enjoying every minute of being pampered was wonderful to watch.

I was happy to recruit Suzanne Clark again to help photograph this wonderful wedding and we arrived at the Grade II listed Tudor building to welcome the groomsmen, bridesmaids and the rest of the wedding party, including the couple’s adorable little boy Alexander.

In the oak panelled hall, we watched the beautiful Laura glide down the aisle into the arms of her nervous groom Michael, and surrounded by those they love most in this world, as they pledged their love. It was a beautiful ceremony and whilst those pesky thunder clouds were hiding we escaped the venue to take a walk around the banks of the canal and Worsley green. We returned to the guests when the heavens decided to open. As the saying goes, a knot is harder to untie when it is wet with rain.

Despite the weather we managed to capture some beautiful and wonderful moments and spent the most fun and relaxed afternoon celebrating Laura and Michaels wedding. The bride has a strong affection for Disney and the amazing little themed details were dotted around the room. The handmade table number frames were adored with Disney film scenes and they were the talking point of the room. Only outshone by the three-tier cake by cakemyday. It was stunning, with rose gold glitter and drip affect, adored with the most perfect little macaroons.

After speeches, champagne and laughter the rain abated allowing us time to get the group photos and for the much-awaited confetti snowstorm. Despite a little hitch with the confetti canon, it really was a day to remember, for all the right reasons. The staff at Worsley court house were fantastic, going above and beyond every chance they got. A perfect day for a perfect couple.
