I love being different, standing out from the crowd is always a good thing in my book. So, when a fellow photographer contacted me to ask me to photograph her wedding and it was a little bit ‘quirky’ I almost bit her hand off at the opportunity. Like me, Vicky dances to her own tune and had incredible and exciting plans for her big day. Vicky has a great eye for style and detail and thanks to her Nanna Emily (the influence surrounding every detail of this big day), this wedding was all about love, family, lace, the colour yellow and all things forest and nature. This fit in splendidly with the design and location of the day.

I met the family, bride and groom at their family home at the top of the Conway mountains overlooking the Mach loop. I had to stop 3 times on the way up the mountain just to face the reality of the incredible view. It was spectacular. It made my eyes swell and my heart flip. To be greeted with this chocolate box cottage in this excitingly manicured secret garden with the killer view at the top was more than I could have ever dreamed of. It blew my socks off.

Vicky chose the most stunning asymmetric tulle gown, with a grey silk bodice and her Nanna Emily’s crocheted lace overlay delicately attached to the top. Everything Emily loved, the colours, dried floral bouquet, all the little details inside the garden party marquee was filled with memories of her.

Not one to fit in with conformity, our bride and groom (Vicky & Wayne) wanted to see each other before the ceremony, so the nerves didn’t get the better of both. They said ‘I Do’ at Llandudno Town Hall and quickly whisked everyone off to the harbour in Conway at the foot of the imposing Castle. Outside the Liverpool Arms pub they drank, celebrated, ate fish and chips, delicious ice creams and watched the boats go by.

The next part of the adventure was up to the Conway hills to the cottage and garden party marquee, where the mini bus would bring all the party loving guests. It was literally perfect, with everything catered for, music, hay bales to sit on, a veritable buffet of awesome food and a garden for your dance floor. What more could you need. Vicky & Wayne, and all your friends and family, thank you for sharing your most memorable and beautiful day with me, for loving me like one of your own, and for giving me memories that will last a lifetime. Much Love, Lisa xx
