I have known Robyn & Paul 30 odd years, since we were at high school together. My sister Julia was school friends with Robyn’s sister Claire too, so we were all friends together. Paul & I used to be in a ten-pin bowling league at Burtonwood Air Base, and back in the day we were pretty good. Paul had an unfair advantage as he’s got a wingspan like an osprey and could send those bowling balls like cannons down the lanes. All this would have been a lot easier if they realised how good they are for each other back in high school, but that’s not how love, or adventures work. They both grew up had kids and when they both found themselves single, a chance message brought us to this beautiful day.
So here we are, I’m reunited with my old school friends who are madly in love, and I get to share their big day. What an honour. I met Paul and his son at his brother’s house. They were all a nervous mess, but with a quick run down on how this rodeo was going to go, we were ready to rock. Robyn had a gorgeous relaxing morning with her daughter, hair and makeup was on point and the dresses were breath-taking. Once they were ready we made our way through to St Wilfrid’s in Grappenhall for the big ‘I do’s’.
It was an emotional but happy arrival and Robyn lit up the church as she walked down the aisle, looking so elegant and absolutely stunning in her Monsoon Bridal Gown that had been altered and fitted by her gorgeous big sister. Paul couldn’t take the smile off his face (see for yourself).
It was such a meaningful and heartfelt ceremony and before long we were headed back to the Manna House with this amazing blended family, for a perfect celebration, speeches, dancing and drinks with their nearest and dearest. This wedding was full of fun, and happiness, smoke bombs, sunsets, twirls, laughter and joy. Exactly the right ingredients for the perfect day of celebration.
Robyn & Paul, you know I love you both to bits, I hope I did you proud and you love your wedding blog. This is where the adventure begins, and you two deserve all the love and joy this life can bring. You are two of the best and It truly was an absolute privilege to share your incredible day. Love you loads, Lisa x
