When Michael and Paula contacted me about their wedding and told me it was at Chester Zoo I almost bit their hands off. It’s one of my favourite places to go and with their fun filled autumnal colours and ideas I just HAD to shoot it for them. Their day started off at the beautiful Stone Villa Boutique hotel in Chester, which they pretty much single handed booked out with family and friends. It was a gorgeous setting and filled with the nervous buzz and excitement of the day ahead. We fluttered from room to room, photographing some of the most amazing and unique little touches and gifts for their wedding party, from the avenger/superhero themed cufflinks to the brides Tinkerbell gift from her husband to be (Paula is tinkerbell mad). They always say you attract like-minded clients and being with Paula & Michaels friends and family was so natural and effortless. The weather was uncharacteristically warm and sunny, especially for October, which only added to the fabulous excitement of the adventure to come. So the bride, wearing a stunning single shoulder strap drop waist gown from Wife to Be (chosen expertly by her sister Tracy – Good Work Chief) was completely overcome with emotion seeing her mum and dad, There I think the reality of the day fell on Paula’s shoulders as she stood there, all dressed up and ready to marry the man of her dreams. After the incredibly emotional ceremony I took the bride and groom off on our planned visit to see the flamingo’s & giraffes and finally meeting up with the rest of the wedding guests at their favourite place, the elephant enclosure… It was magical, full of animal photobombs and a real treat for all the visitors on that day. With everyone happily making way for the new Mr & Mrs with claps, cheers and shouts of congratulations. It really was wonderful. Oakfield House was dressed to perfection ready for the guests return and no detail was left to chance. All celebrated in the stunning autumnal colours of Paula’s bouquet. It really was a feast for the eyes. The wedding cake by the Cake Specialist had a cheeky superhero surprise at the back, it definitely gave all the guests the WOW reaction Michael and Paula had hoped for. I could go on and on about the amazing adventure that this wedding day was, not only for the couple but for us as photographers. It was a real treat, full of fun, laughter, surprises, adventures and teaming with the most wonderful moments. So Paula and Michael, thank you so much for letting us share your adventure, it’s a day I won’t be forgetting in a very long time. Sending you both so much love, Lisa xx
