Sue & Dave are a special couple, a perfect match many would say. With their grown up children by their sides on this special day they make the most beautiful blended family. They have both had difficult journeys before they found happiness with each other and I was thrilled they asked me to share their special day with them at Statham Lodge.
I met the bride Sue on a glorious autumn afternoon at the venue with her family and friends around her. There weren’t any nerves on show, just a beautiful woman who was so happy and madly in love. As more people arrived, including Dave’s friend who decided to cycle the 150 miles to see his mate tie the knot, the excitement was building nicely.
Dave and his best man, his son Adam, took a little walk in the grounds to take in the autumn colours before the big moment and then it was time. We had the fabulous Andy Ball on hand at Statham to ensure everything ran like clockwork and when he gave us the nod we knew the bride was on her way.
On the arm of her proud son Tony, looking breathtaking in her gorgeous bridal gown, Sue literally floated down the aisle and was welcomed into the arms of her husband-to-be. It was so wonderful to watch the emotions of the moments wash across the faces of all the friends and family, along with a few happy tears.
After the ceremony, we all headed into the twilight and grabbed the golden hour of the day to take some beautiful photographs. Later we danced the night away and watched the happy couple feast on their incredible Brownie Wedding Cake made by (which I can confirm was absolutely delicious) What I loved about this day was all the laughter and fun everyone had sharing the happiness for Dave & Sue. I know there are so many adventures ahead for the both of you and I would like to wish you all the love, luck, health, wealth and happiness your hearts can hold. Much Love, Lisa x
