I remember wiping a few emotional tears away at one of my past weddings (when David married Lucy at the West Tower) and glancing around the room to see if anyone noticed me crumbling like a digestive. I sighed relief when I spotted Amy equally emotional in the sea of happy friends and family. So, when Dan & Amy asked me to photograph their forthcoming wedding I was absolutely thrilled to bits.

What a venue Colshaw hall is, it screams luxury, decadence and is the epitome of every little girls dream wedding. Couple that with glorious blue skies and the highest temperature of the year and it’s safe to say it doesn’t get any better than this.

It was so wonderful to see Amy, surrounded by her army of bloody gorgeous bridesmaids, friends and family that have always loved and supported her in life. It was so much fun seeing the dynamics each of her friends and family bring to their relationship with each other, and even more exciting was seeing so many familiar faces. The beautiful Colshaw Hall House was filled with more love and laughter than I could have hoped for and it carried Amy through the wedding nerves with ease.

It was time to make our way to the beautiful timber framed ceremony hall, with wall to wall windows and it was filled with light and joy. With Dan, so sure and steadfast in his choice to marry Amy that he didn’t show any sign of nerves. There was a beautiful tribute to family members no longer with us, with 4 chairs set aside for them and their photographs, including Amy’s mum who would no doubt watching over her beautiful girl on this very special sunny day. The bridesmaids looked amazing in their nude pink Jenny Packham Grecian Chiffon dresses holding their bouquets made by the very talented Nancy Moon Florist Holding onto her father’s arm, Amy made her arrival following her bridesmaids down the aisle in her breath-taking Pronovias fit and flare lace gown from Eternity Bridal. Once Dan & Amy’s eyes locked, that was it, for them, they were completely alone with each other.

After saying I do, the happy couple emerged from the Hall in a shower of petals and the afternoon was partied away in the stunningly manicured walled garden surrounding Colshaw Hall. The speeches were filled with laughter and all Dan & Amy know and love, dined on the most beautiful food. I didn’t leave until Sunset and being around such wonderful, fun and exciting people was an absolute treat. So, for Amy & Dan, I wish you both, all the love, luck, health, wealth and happiness your beautiful hearts can hold. Much Love, Lisa x
