Brian & Helen are all about family. They are the kind of people who will move mountains for anyone who is blessed to have them in their lives, and their love for each other is as fierce as their love for their friends and families. All these amazing qualities are why I fell in love with them when we met. Fast forward 14 months and their big day was finally here. I met the bridal party at Helens family home and was quickly adopted by Margie & Paul. Even though Helen had told me all about her ideas and designs for her wedding dress I was blown away to see all the incredible workmanship and detail that went into was (for me) the best bespoke and superbly made wedding dress I’ve ever seen. It was stunning. Lucy Hartshorn is a design genius. The bridal party was on form, and for the first time in Helens life, on time too!!
Whilst I was busy keeping the bridal party on track, I had the wonderful Sophie Ditchfield on hand photographing our handsome groom and all his gorgeous family and making sure everything was going to plan. Father Ray met us at the beautiful Church of Our Lady in Birkenhead for the Catholic wedding Mass, it light bright and welcoming. Then here comes the bride..... Helen looked absolutely sensational.
After an emotional service and a flurry of autumnal confetti, the big red London bus and the vintage cars from Love & Carriage delivered our Bride and Groom all the guests to the Double Tree Hilton in Chester. Its such a gorgeous venue, and with the run of the hotel for the day and evening all the guests were in for a treat. With Milk of Amnesia performing some fabulous music classics to the conservatory everyone ate delicious canape’s in the autumn sunshine. The Abbey was decorated to perfection, everyone was treated to their own literary classic book as a favour and tables were named after those that Helen and Brian love most in the world and wanted to be part of their day in memory and spirit. The gorgeous cake by Karen Davies Sugarcraft took centre stage and after some wonderfully emotional and funny speeches the guests left the Abbey and retired to the conservatory where they were surprised with the most amazing Cheese, bread and cracker cart (it was heavenly). If that wasn’t enough surprises for the day, our bride sang to her new husband and most high emotional walls crumbled to the ground at this point.
It was so amazing, from start to finish, from sunrise to sunset, it was as perfect and wonderful as they had planned, and it was a privilege to be a part of such a special day. I was so sad to leave at the end of the night. I want to wish so much love and happiness to Helen & Brian, they are such beautiful people inside and out and they deserve the world. Much Love, Lisa xx
